Summer has arrived and with it we see the promise and the abundance it brings. Now we notice that the people born during this time period have fully evolved to take on responsibilities and decision making. Leo has been chosen to be the leader, the King. Maybe initially, in ancient times he was described as the owner of the corn field, the corn King. He is now overlooking the golden ripe fields of grains which have ripened during the bright and sunny days of summer.

He is not the hunter like Aries who had to rely on that skill to survive. He is not the accumulator of wealth that Taurus is. He is not the juggler of words and thoughts that Gemini is. He is not like the Cancer who crawls back into his shell when he is scared.

The Leo is now the Judge, the Leader of a Nation, and deep inside, his inner feelings are still telling him that he may be a descendent of Royalty and he is therefor the King now.

He sets his goals high but does not always contribute enough to reach them, he goes after what he feels is worth going after, but let's be honest your Majesty....and since you value honesty so much----you can be lazy and complete only what has to be completed.... What he does not have to address personally he will distribute to others, he is the Master of decentralization.

He is precious and generous and because of that it will take him a while to realize that not everyone is as honest and trustworthy as he is and this leaves him open to be victimized several times before he notices it. Leo's can be a little naive and that alone makes him vulnerable. It is hard for him to understand, that not all people of the human race are honorable and trustworthy as he is.

He is so open and honest and sticks to his principles and naturally say's what he thinks.

One very dominant trait he has is that the Leo is ego-centered. He feels that he is the center of the Universe and all should revolve around him. When a Leo enters a room, he gets noticed right away, he "appears." People born in the sign of Leo are the strongest extroverts, no other sign has this dominant trait.

He is an actor and dramatizes, if he has a part in a play or production and is not given the feature role, he will suffer. He will forfeit big amounts of money to play in films and take a lesser paying part in an onstage play because here he can hear the applause, the ovation. He needs that attention, the validation of his greatness, an assurance.

One thing you will notice during a conversation he will eventually introduce "his" experiences, his observations. He has many opinions and experiences and knows what he is talking about. He is so intelligent and is knowledgeable in so many topics that it is never boring to speak to him or listen to him. .. He can get bored listening to others speak, unless they talk about him.

He believes and is convinced that what he considers to be correct, is correct,,, and if anyone wants to argue on his points it almost looks and feels like treason to him.

The Leo is noble like a King, generous like a King and a true friend to his friends...as long as they cater to him. We have to admit that Leo is magnificent and we have to respect him. His instincts are so acutely developed, that he can almost read your mind, his intuition is fully developed as well.

The immediate surroundings of a Leo person are usually not small, he needs the wide open spaces. Flatter him and he will open his heart and hands to you and he will dispense generously. His fairness reigns supreme and he will not stand by idle if someone is treated unfairly, he will defend him to the point of encountering physical danger himself.

Physically, he is not the most courageous in the animal kingdom, there are others who can out do him. His mental courage is much greater than his physical.

The Leo likes: Splendor, magnificence, flattery, dignity, fairness, pride, the honorable, the sublime, grandeur, chivalry, authority, the high position, the ceremony, the drama.

The Leo hates: The wretched, the shabby (stingy, misery) the crafty, being criticized, the counter action, cowardliness, dishonesty, the shady or trickery, intrigue, hypocrisy. He is not the revolutionary, but he could be, but once he gains control it is no longer needed.

The female Leo has her own authority, she too is a leader and is very involved and many times she will be voted into office by other female Leo's. Her entrance into a room will be noticed just like the male species entrance. She too is generous and never cheap. she is a good housekeeper, a great cook and mother.

The facial expressions of the Leo people give away of how they feel, because their expression is a mirror to their soul.

One problem a Leo has sometimes is that he surrounds himself with the wrong people who flatter him, but he does realize his mistake fast and makes the corrections. He does represent strength and power, he is not like Taurus who is accumulating wealth and guards it, Leo surrounds himself with people. His role as the leader makes him a great employer who is fair and is respected because of it but it is hard for him to be the employee.

The sign of Leo is ruled by the sun, he needs it to live and be energized, where others need air to breath.
